Woven City is a fully connected ecosystem, to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. This “living laboratory” will include full-time residents and researchers who will test and develop technologies such as autonomy, robotics, personal mobility and smart homes, in a real-world environment.

Toyota Woven City’s concept is “Human-centric”, “A Living Laboratory”, and “Ever-Evolving City”. Inventors will live in the city along with the consumers. They will develop services and provide value to consumers.

Inventor Platform team mission:
  1. Develop a business ecosystem in the Woven City
   We aim to build an ecosystem like Silicon Valley to create colorful & innovative ideas, evaluate and validate them, weave & grow together and learn from failure.
  2. Develop a software platform for Inventors

Inventors can use Common Tools and Functions to provide their innovation for residents. This includes basic management software, unique functions, testing tools, Super App, and so on.

We are looking for a customer engineer with excellent expertise in data analysis and utilization.

The goal of the Inventor Platform is to facilitate community-based solutions by bringing thereof together with the personal and civic challenges of Woven City and beyond. To do this, you need to be a person who crosses borders to connect design and business.

Many Inventors want co-creation with residents and expect to leverage cross-domain data to create value.
In this role, you will help customers shape and execute technical business strategies to get the most out of Woven City Software Platform. You’ll assist fellow teammates / teams by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers.




  • Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight Woven City Software Platform value using techniques to include whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations and documents.
  • Work with customers (inventors) to explore opportunities from the technical perspective, and collaboratively resolve technical impediments.
  • Design / implement data processing, data analysis.
  • Work with stakeholders to plan requirements, set high level schedules and milestones, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners both across the company and externally.
  • Responsible for the success of the task force project in charge.



  • 5+ years software coding experience using machine learning.
  • 5+ years successfully leading or managing new product / service development projects.
  • Excellent project management, organizational and communication skills.
  • Sense of urgency and personal drive to effectively and efficiently execute transactions.
  • A natural collaborator with a strong win-win drive who can facilitate productive conflict, creating outcomes that magnify input exponentially for all parties involved.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, displaying strong verbal and written presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way and to tailor key narrative and presentation styles to multiple audiences.
  • Proficiency in business level English and Japanese language.



  • Experience in demonstrating professional experience in large-scale program management, ideally in digital transformation, AI implication, IoT, Smart-city, Smart-store, etc.
  • Experience and knowledge in software development using Java/C#/C++/C.
  • Experience in development of IoT service product
  • Experience of machine learning framework (scikit-learn, tensorflow, pytorch, keras)
  • Experience in processes ranging from high level architecture definition to operations
