Volta’s award-winning charging stations benefit brands, consumers, and real-estate locations by providing valuable advertising space to businesses and convenient charging to drivers. Strategically located in places consumers already visit, Volta’s chargers are currently the most used electric vehicle charging stations in the United States.

The Opportunity at Volta Charging
We’re seeking an Algorithm Engineer/ Data Scientist to develop data-driven algorithms used in both internal software systems and customer facing software products. You will use your experience in Data Science to bring together market needs and technology to a wide range of products/services aimed at transforming the advertising and transportation industries in equal measure. You will develop data-driven algorithms to be used in software solutions and services to support our wide variety of needs/products. Data Intelligence is responsible for bringing data to our company and users that will help increase decision velocity and quality.  This role will be specific to the Media products and services.


In your first 90 days, you will


  • Commit algorithm code that is being evaluated for use 
  • Actively perform data science analysis for an internal team on a weekly basis

    After twelve months, you will have accomplished


  • Developing algorithms that have been deployed and are being used by internal and external customers
  • Providing insights to internal teams which have changed their decision making process or added to their decision making capabilities.

  • Is able to perform guided research and suggest viable algorithmic modules and data sources
  • Is able to participate in collaborative development among a diverse and distributed group and develop algorithmic components decided by others that may not completely adhere to their own preferred design
  • Is able to develop code that is well documented and tested and is interpretable and usable by others
  • Can listen to domain experts in unfamiliar domains and quickly learn what data science experiments and tools are relevant to their needs
  • Is able to report on progress on a daily basis
