We intend to continue to prioritize growth for the foreseeable future, and doing so with limited resources requires clever business design. Our mission is to support Tesla growth objectives by aligning people, processes, and systems to operate more efficiently such that we can meet these ambitious growth objectives.

Role

You will be joining our team as a business analyst responsible for identifying these inefficiencies across the business from design engineering, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, service and more. Once identified, you’ll be responsible for designing pragmatic solutions, and driving implementation. Your changes will have impacts on the way people work, so you’ll have to earn the trust of business stakeholders and suggest solutions that will persist long after you move on to your next initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with cross-functional stakeholders within the company to understand how their business processes can be improved to be more scalable or efficient.
  • Document as-is and to-be business processes.
  • Coach and educate stakeholders about the problem statement and proposed solutions.
  • Develop use-cases and business requirements for changes to PLM, ERP and MES systems.
  • Work with Technical Solution Architects from our technology partners to translate business requirements into technical specifications for development.
  • Define policies or standards for how different business units at Tesla should operate.
  • Support training and roll-out of process or tool changes.
  • Facilitate business acceptance for implemented process or tool changes.

Requirments

  • BA/BS in engineering or related technical field.
  • 2-5 years of experience working in an organization that designs and manufactures complex hardware products. More senior roles available.
  • 1-3 years of experience developing requirements or specifications for IT systems.
  • Prior experience driving solutions in enterprise information systems including PLM/CAD (3DX, Catia), ERP or MES.
  • Prior professional services or consulting experience.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Bias towards actionable, pragmatic solutions and the drive to ensure that projects get done.
