Data Analyst
Role
Tesla is looking for
an exceptional Data Analyst to support the Field Quality, Data Analysis and Data
Engineering team. This role will be local to China and report to the California
based Field Quality and Data Analysis team with dotted line support to the Service
Engineering and Field Safety team in China.
Responsibilities:

Provide data support for legal investigation requests coming
from external regulatory authorities
- Perform statistical analysis to
quantify reliability risks in the field and identify emerging trends - Transform and aggregate large
quantities of vehicle fleet data for diagnostics and prognostics - Answer questions on fleet usage
and behavior to enable proactive monitoring and improve field quality and
the customer experience - Build and maintain databases,
dashboards and tools required for Field Quality engineers to simplify or
automate their analysis - Create data visualizations to
communicate analysis results and drive decision making
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science,
Physics, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or proof of
exceptional skills in related fields - Strong speaking and written
English communication - Advanced working SQL knowledge
and experience working with relational databases, as well as
working familiarity with a variety of database engines - Advanced working knowledge of
Python, especially in a data analytics/science capacity where pandas/numpy
are used heavily - Working knowledge of “big
data” technologies and the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Presto and
HBase). Experience working with real time, large scale data. - Able to visualize data
effectively
- Python
(matplotlib/seaborn/plotly/etc) - Tableau (or, similar BI tools)
- Any opensource/freeware viz
tools (e.g., D3, ggplot)
- Familiarity with accessing data
through REST APIs - Strong analytical skills and
knowledge of applied statistics including predictive analytics, time
series analysis and machine learning. Working knowledge of reliability
statistics such as Weibull Analysis preferred - Ability to quickly learn new

- Previous experience in a
manufacturing environment a plus
