Bill.com is seeking a talented Director of Engineering, AI Infrastructure to build our ML and infrastructure to help us scale our AI technology to the next level. In addition, this role will be responsible for developing and maintaining 2-3 strategic microservices.
Role and Responsibilities:
Lead a team of ML infrastructure engineers and software engineers responsible for building, maintaining and improving Bill.com AI infrastructure and development framework
Introduce relevant 3rd party tools and new in-house capabilities to improve development, deployment and monitoring process for ML
Work with product managers, designers, architects, security team, and other engineering managers to deliver on a fast paced sprint cadence
Develop your engineers through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
Work with Talent Acquisition to hire engineers and interns as you scale the team.
Maintain high standards for operational excellence and engineering rigor through high quality, security and performance.
Serve as the scrum master for your team’s deliverables and take ownership from design through development and production support.
Review plans and code and provide technical guidance to your engineers.
Present on plans, progress and outcomes at monthly reviews and company meetings.
Location: Can be in one of the BDC locations – Bay Area, Houston Area, Salt Lake City
Professional Experience/Background to be successful in this role:
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or Engineering
8 years overall experience with at least 3 years in a management role and previous experience as a software developer.
Experience leading teams with 5+ engineers in a fast paced SaaS environment.
Track record for delivering platform initiatives with high quality and scale with multiple production deliveries per month.
Experience working with development, QA, dev ops, tech ops, program management and product management in an agile scrum model.
Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure. AWS is preferred.
Experience with Microservices and distributed systems.
Experience working with AI/ML methodology, deployment practices and performance monitoring at scale
Experience with Big Data technologies, Sagemaker, ML pipeline
Graph Databases, Amazon Neptune experience preferable
Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and confidence presenting in group settings.
Experience in FinTech or B2B is a plus but not required.
